His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam last night consented to attend a banquet hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force in conjunction with His Majesty's 61st birthday at the Assarraa Hall in the capital.
His Majesty was greeted on arrival by the Commissioner of Police, Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin Jalani, as well as other senior police officers.
Accompanying His Majesty to the banquet were Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar.
His Majesty, who is also the Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force, was welcomed with three shouts of 'Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik'. Prior to that, the national anthem was played.
Also present at the banquet were His Royal Highness Deputy Inspector General Police Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince, HRH Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah, HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik, HRH Princess Hjh Masna and other members of the royal family.
Following the singing of the national anthem, His Majesty consented to receive greetings from more than 300 RBPF personnel who attended the banquet.
The highlight of the night was the cutting of the birthday cake by His Majesty, before being presented with a Pesambah by the Police Commissioner on behalf of the RBPF.
The event was followed by stage performances for the royal guests and other attendees throughout the duration of the banquet, which were carried out by divisions of the RBPF and invited guest performers.
The function ended with His Majesty signing the 'Signature Slip' in conjunction with His Majesty consenting to attend last night's banquet before the royal entourage departed the Assarraa Hall.
