His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning bestowed titles and presented medals to 40 people during the ceremonious audience and investiture ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty's 59th Birthday at the Throne Room of Istana Nurul Iman.
Leading the honours to receive a medal was Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah who received the "Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (DK)".
The Commissioner of Police, Pehin Dato Kerma Setia Awang Zainuddin bin Jailani received the "Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang, Darjah Pertama (DPKT)" which carries the title "Dato Paduka Seri".
The Inspector General of the Malaysian Police, Tan Sri Mohd Bakri bin Hj Omar meanwhile was awarded the "Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei Yang Amat Perkasa Darjah Pertama (PSPNB)" which carries the title "Dato Seri Pahlawan".
The audience and investiture ceremony was also attended by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg. Anak Hjh Saleha, His Royal Highness Prince Pg. Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and HRH Pg. Anak Isteri Pg. Anak Hjh Zariah, HRH Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah and Datin Hjh Faizah, HRH Prince Abdul Azim, HRH Prince Abdul Malik, HRH Prince Abdul Mateen and other members of the royal family.
Another recipient who was awarded the "Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Kedua (DSSUB), was presented to Awang Hj Lamit bin Hj Ibrahim. This medal carries the title "Dato Seri Setia".
Nine other people receive the "Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Kedua (DPMB)" which carries the title "Dato Paduka".
They were Awg Hj Adanan bin Hj Zainal, Awang Hj Ali bin Apong, Awg Hj Mohd Hamid bin Hj Mohd Jaafar, Awg Serbini bin Hj Ali, Awg Hj Metassan bin Hj Md Daud, Dr Ismail bin Hj Duraman, Awg Hj Saifon bin Hj Awg Besar, the Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police, Awg Hj Ghani bin Hj Omar and Colonel (U) Awg Hj Mahmud bin Hj Saidin.
Seven people received the "Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Ketiga (SSUB)". The recipients are Awg Hj Ismail bin Hj Abd Manap, Awg Hj Ibrahim bin Hj Kamis, Pehin Khatib Awg Hj Metassan bin Hj Tahir, Mudim Awg Suhaili bin Hj Kalong, Mudim Awg Hj Amran bin Hj Mohd Salleh, Mudim Awg Hj Ahmad Kasra bin Hj Ibrahim and Dyg Hjh Hasnah binti Hj Omar.
Finally, 20 people were awarded the "Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Ketiga (SNB)".
They are Pg Hj Mohd Yakub bin Pg Hj Othman, Awg Hj Zainal Abidin bin Hj Mohd Ali, Awg Abd Ghani bin Pg Hj Metussin, Awg Hj Matassim bin Hj Jibah, Awg Hj Bujang bin Hj Masu'ut, Awg Hj Mohd Nor bin Hj Jeludin, Awg Hong Kok Seng, Awg Zainal Abidin bin Tinggal, Awg Hj Ishak bin Hj Md Rais, Dr Omar bin Hj Khalid, Awg Hj Zaine bin Mohd Daud, Awg Hj Asanan bin Hj Manggong @ Ali, Awg Hj Johari bin Hj Johan, Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Salia Hj Awg Mohd Tarif bin Pehin Orang Kaya Perdana Wangsa Hj Mohammad, Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Diraja Abang Hj Abu Hanifah bin Orang Kaya Paduka Seia Diraja Abang Hj Bujang, Orang Kaya Bandar Awg Hj Ali bin Hj Ahmad, Pengiran Hjh Zabaidah binti Pg Hj Kamaludin, Dyg Hjh Suriyah binti Hj Umar, Pg Hjh Mariana binti Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin and Dyg Hjh Norsiah binti Hj Johari.
A Doa Selamat was later read by the State Mufti.
Also witnessing the ceremony were Pengiran-Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri Manteri Pendalaman, foreign diplomats, Permanent Secretaries and heads of government departments.
