His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has expressed satisfaction over the warm and friendly relations between Brunei and Myanmar and hoped that the ties would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of both countries.
His Majesty made these remarks in congratulatory messages to Lt General Soe Win, the Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar, and General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development of Myanmar, on the occasion of Myanmar's Independence Day.
His Majesty hoped that Lt General Soe Win and General Than Shwe would remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Myanmar to enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a congratulatory message to Major General Nyan Win, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar.
His Royal Highness sent his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Myanmar on their Independence Day.
HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah said he looked forward to working closely to continue strengthening the cooperation between the two countries both bilaterally and regionally.
