UBD students feted at 26th Convocation Ceremony

THE Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Chancellor Hall was filled with 98 students feted for their accomplishments in their post-graduate diplomas, advanced diplomas and diplomas yesterday afternoon, following the morning session of the university’s 26th Convocation Ceremony.

The convocation ceremony was graced by His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Pro-Chancellor of UBD, who was greeted upon arrival by the Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and UBD Vice-Chancellor, Dato Paduka Dr Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince later consented to award 15 recipients with their post-graduate diplomas, 10 recipients with their advanced diplomas and a further 73 recipients with their diplomas.

The ceremony came to an end with a thanksgiving prayer read by Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince consented to take several group photos with the new graduates. - Borneo Bulletin (7 September 2014)
