Crown Prince concludes visit to S’pore

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah yesterday afternoon left Singapore after wrapping up a five-day official visit to the city-state.

Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Muntaqim and Her Royal Highness Princess Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah. Earlier, His Royal Highness visited Singapore Sports Hub in Kallang.

The arrival of His Royal Highness was greeted by Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and the Second Minister for Communications and Information; Desmond Lee Ti-Seng, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development; Richard Seow Yung Liang, Chairman of Sports Singapore; Ng Lang, Chief Executive Officer, Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA); Ludwig Reichhold, Board Member, Sports Hub Pte Ltd; and Oon Jin Teik, Chief Operational Officer, Sports Hub Pte Ltd.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness proceeded to visit the National Stadium followed by a photo session. During the visit, His Royal Highness was briefed on the stadium.

His Royal Highness later proceeded to the VVIP Suite, where a briefing on Singapore Sports Hub was presented by the Chief Operational Officer of Sports Hub Pte Ltd.

This was followed by a briefing on the preparations of Singapore as the host of the SEA Games 2015 from Toh Boon Yi, Chief (Strategic Development and Marketing Group), Sports Singapore.

His Royal Highness was later briefed by Mark Goh, Director of Physical Planning, URA on ‘Land Use Planning in Singapore: Master Plan 2004 and the Greater Southern Waterfront’.

At the end of the visit, His Royal Highness received a pesambah. His Royal Highness later presented souvenirs on the occasion of His Royal Highness’ visit.

Present at Changi International Airport to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses were Associate Professor Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs; Dr Mohamad Maliki bin Osman, Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Defence, and Mayor of the South East District as the Minister-in-Attendance; and Jaya Ratnam, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, along with their respective wives.

Also present to bid farewell were Haji Awang Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore and his wife, as well as officers from the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore.

Prior to Their Royal Highnesses’ departure yesterday, a Doa Selamat was read by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Hamid.

Before departing, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness received a pesambah in the form of a photo album of Their Royal Highnesses’ official visit to Singapore.

Their Royal Highnesses later joined in for a photo session.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses during the official visit were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Development; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance. - Borneo Bulletin (5 September 2014)
