HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow state medals on 339 recipients at an Investiture Ceremony that took place at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana of the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel.

YAM Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Legislative Council, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Pedalaman, Diplomatic Corps, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments were also present.

Leading the Investiture Ceremony were 67 recipients of SMB medals comprising 46 males and 21 females.

His Majesty then consented to present 14 SUB medals to five males and nine females.

A total of 248 recipients received the PSB medals comprising 132 males and 116 females, while the PUB medals were handed out to 10 recipients comprising nine males and a female.

The bestowing of state medals was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 68th birthday.

Recipients of yesterday’s Investiture Ceremony comprised officers from both government and private sectors. - Borneo Bulletin (5 September 2014)
