HIS Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik yesterday attended an Israk Mikraj celebration at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Also present were Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar and Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the PMO.

Some 300 guests comprising of deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of department, officers and staff at the PMO as well as the departments under it gathered yesterday at the event.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses of Al-Quran by Muhammad Najib bin Haji Aliakbar followed by a special lecture by Ustaz Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Patra, Senior Religious Officer at the Syariah Affairs Department. The recitation of Doa Selamat was read by Pengiran Haji Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, Mosque Affairs Officer.

The ceremony was co-hosted by the State Judiciary Department and the e-Government National Centre. - Borneo Bulletin (5 June 2014)
