Crown Prince on official 5-day visit to Indonesia

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman yesterday arrived in Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia, for an official five-day visit.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Muntaqim and Her Royal Highness Princess Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah.

Present at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base to greet Their Royal Highnesses were Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Minister of Defence, Republic of Indonesia; Nurul Qamar, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam; as well as representatives from the office of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia and Special Forces with their respective spouses. Also present was the Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base and Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam.

Also present to welcome Their Royal Highnesses was Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia.

Their Royal Highnesses will be residing at Grand Hyatt Jakarta Hotel throughout their visit to the Republic of Indonesia. Upon arrival at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta Hotel, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by the hotel’s general manager.

Also accompanying Their Royal Highnesses for the official visit to the Republic of Indonesia is Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia established diplomatic relations in 1984 and have developed various cooperation in the fields of defence, economic, technical, trade as well as air services, among other things.

Prior to Their Royal Highnesses’ departure to Jakarta, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.

Present at His Majesty the Sultan Flight’s Hangar to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses yesterday afternoon were YAM Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, the State Mufti, members of the Privy Council, the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, the Commissioner of Police, Permanent Secretaries at the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Ministry of Education, as well as representative from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam. - Borneo Bulletin (3 May 2014)
