HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon consented to visit Myanmar’s Integrated Farm.
Upon his arrival at the farm’s main building, His Majesty was greeted by the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Thein Sein, who brought the Sultan for a tour of the fruits and vegetables section of the farm, accompanied by U Myint Hlang, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation.
His Majesty and the Myanmar president then viewed a fruits and vegetables products exhibit.
Both heads of state then enjoyed some light refreshments and watched a brief video presentation about the farm, followed by the presentation of a fruit product as a pesambah to His Majesty.
The visit then continued with a tour of the paddy field.
The Integrated Farm, which is a project initiated by Myanmar’s president, has an area of 200 hectares and is divided into several sections covering fruits, vegetables and a paddy field. The farm also has a sorting and packing facility.
Accompanying His Majesty during the visit were the Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng and the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Hj Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Hj Basir.
