Sultan receives new envoys in audience

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon consented to present Letters of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly-appointed Ambassador to Cambodia and newly-appointed Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as receive Letters of Credence from the newly-appointed High Commissioner and Ambassadors to Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty presented a Letter of Credence to Brunei’s newly appointed Ambassador to Cambodia, Pg Kasmirhan bin Pg Haji Mohd Tahir, who previously occupied the post of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty also presented a Letter of Credence to the newly-appointed Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Awang Haji Mulok bin Haji Jumat, who was the Senior Administrative Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty later received Letters of Credence from three newly-appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam, Dr Ashok Kumar Amrohi, High Commissioner of the Republic of India; Nurul Qomar, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskar, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty received in audience Pg Kasmirhan bin Pg Haji Mohd Tahir and Awang Haji Mulok bin Haji Jumat.

His Majesty later granted separate audiences to the newly-appointed High Commissioner and Ambassadors to Brunei Darussalam.

Dr Ashok Kumar Amrohi previously served as the High Commissioner of India to Mozambique and Swaziland.

Nurul Qomar previously served as the Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskar previously served as the Advisor to the Minister of Social Development in the Sultanate of Oman. - Borneo Bulletin (26 February 2014)
