Royal congratulations to Chinese president, premier

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send messages of congratulations to Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China as well as the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In a message to Xi Jinping, His Majesty very much appreciated the long-standing friendship and close cooperation that existed between the two countries and also valued Xi Jinping’s commitment and contribution in strengthening relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China both bilaterally and in regional and international partnerships.

His Majesty looked forward to meeting Xi Jinping in Beijing next month for the Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting and wished the Chinese president much success in his preparations for the meeting.

In the message to Li Keqiang, His Majesty greatly valued the historical ties and close friendship between the two countries and peoples, as the many exchanges between both countries at all levels are an indication of the commitment to strengthening the long standing ties.

His Majesty also very much appreciated his contribution towards enhancing the close partnership between Asean and China.

His Majesty looked forward to meeting Li Keqiang in Milan at the upcoming Asem Summit and wished him all the best in his country’s preparations to host the Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting next month. In ending the messages, His Majesty extended his kindest regards to Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam also sent a congratulatory message to Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

His Royal Highness said he was delighted to send his congratulations to him and to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the 65th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

His Royal Highness said it was good to see him again in Nay Pyi Taw last month and it has been a great pleasure working with him. His Royal Highness also very much appreciated China’s contribution to Brunei’s development, particularly in energy and in the construction of Brunei’s homes and highways.

His Royal Highness also congratulated Wang Yi on the recent hosting of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games and sent his best wishes to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China in their preparations for the Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting next month. - Borneo Bulletin (1 October 2014)
