HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday consented to launch the recently completed Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Sports Complex. His Majesty also attended a get-together ceremony with Non-Commissioned Officers of the RBAF.
Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and General of the RBAF; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel.
During the get-together event, His Majesty consented to receive a pesambah presented by a Non-Commissioned Officer of the RBAF in the form of a polo stick replica, whereas His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received a pesambah in the form of a snooker cue replica.
The polo stick replica was chosen as polo is one of His Majesty’s favourite sport where the polo stick has five stars imprinted on it along with His Majesty’s name as a form of respect and undivided loyalty from the Corporal Club for the Supreme Commander of RBAF.
Meanwhile, the committee members of the RBAF Corporal Club chose the snooker cue replica as a pesambah for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as snooker is one of His Royal Highness’ favourite sports.
The snooker cue replica has four stars imprinted on it along with His Royal Highness’ name as a form of respect to the General of the RBAF who has loyally followed the footsteps of His Majesty as the country’s Khalifah.
Before leaving the Sports Complex, His Majesty along with the royal entourage consented to receive greetings from the Non-Commissioned Officers followed by the signing of the commemorative parchment by His Majesty the Sultan and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
