HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of congratulations to David Johnston, Governor-General of Canada, as well as the government and people of Canada on the occasion of Canada Day.

The message stated that His Majesty much appreciated the warm friendship and long-standing cooperation enjoyed by the two countries and peoples in many fields and looked forward to continuing work with Governor-General Johnston to strengthen these much-valued ties in the years ahead.

In concluding the message, His Majesty conveyed his kindest regards and best wishes for Governor-General Johnston’s continued good health and happiness and for the progress and prosperity of the people of Canada. - Borneo Bulletin (1 July 2014)
