HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a condolence message to Thongsing Thammavong, Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, following the tragic military plane crash in northern Laos, Saturday, involving the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence and other senior members of the government.

In His Majesty’s message to the Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the monarch said he was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic plane crash in northern Laos.

His Majesty as well as His Majesty’s Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and to the Government and people of Laos, especially to the families of those affected by the tragedy.

Associated Press reported Saturday the Russian made plane crashed in a forested area in the northeastern province of Xiangkhoung. - Borneo Bulletin (19 May 2014)
