HIS MAJESTY the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to launch the Mushaf Brunei Darussalam and Translations (Full 30 Juzuks Edition) last night in conjunction with the National Level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.
The holy book was published following His Majesty’s call for Muslims in the country to understand the content of Al-Quran and appreciate and make it a guide for achieving a peaceful life here and in the afterlife.
The first phase of the Mushaf Brunei Darussalam was duly completed and His Majesty launched the first volume of “Mushaf Brunei Darussalam and Translations”, containing the first three Juzuks of Al-Quran: Surah Al-Baqarah, Ali Imran, and Al-Nisa’ on September 6, 2009, during the commemoration of Nuzul Al-Quran 1430H.
To ensure that the translation and representation of Al-Quran was precise and accurate, a team of writers for the translation of Mushaf led by the Minister of Religious Affairs was formed.
The team comprised writers, board of editors and a verification committee. To compose the translation edition, the team used approved references.
It is the wish of His Majesty that the publication of a local version of Holy Al-Quran and its translations grant Muslims in Brunei the opportunity to appreciate and understand its content with greater ease.
