IN COMMEMORATING the 140th World Postal Day, the Department of Postal Services, Ministry of Communications, held a Yaasin and Tahlil ceremony for the late Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong.

Present as the guest of honour of was the Minister of Communications, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar.

Also present were the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Communications, Awg Abd Mutalib POKSS Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yusof, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Communications, Awg Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Mohd Yunos, Post Master General, Awg Hj Mohd Manan Hj Lakim, Communications Director, as well as senior officers at the ministry and the departments under it.

The religious ceremony, which also saw the attendance of about 100 senior officers, branch managers and postmen from the Department of Postal Services, began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.

It was then followed with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil, led by Imam Hj Ali Yusof Hj Arshad from the Department of Mosque Affairs. - Borneo Bulletin (13 November 2014)
