HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to join other Heads of State and Government of Asean to visit the Special Exhibition on Public Governance in conjunction with the Asean-Republic of Korea Ministerial Roundtable Meeting which was held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), Busan, Republic of Korea.

His Majesty visited the Special Exhibition after attending the Second Session of the Asean-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit.

His Majesty together with the Heads of State and Government of Asean viewed the exhibitions participated by Asean member countries and the host country, the Republic of Korea, specifically related to Good Governance.

The Special Exhibition, which was coordinated by the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs with its theme ‘Better Governance, Happier Citizens’ was aimed at sharing knowledge and experience of respective systems of governance for a more effective cooperation and development of Asean member countries.

Immediately after the visit to the Special Exhibition, His Majesty together with other Heads of State and Government of Asean proceeded to a luncheon hosted by Chong Jong-sup, the Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs, which was held at the Nurimaru APEC House, Busan.

Accompanying His Majesty were the Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng and the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar. - Borneo Bulletin (11 December 2014)
