His Majesty in Myanmar for Asean Summit

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam safely arrived in Nay Pyi Taw, Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the 25th Asean Summit and Related Summits which will be held today and tomorrow.

Present at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport to greet His Majesty were U Than Htay, Minister of Rail Transportation, and Daw Yin Yin Myint, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam as well as senior officers of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Also present to greet His Majesty was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

His Majesty consented to receive a bouquet of flowers and walked past a static guard of honour mounted by an officer and 18 personnel from the State (Presidential) Guard of Honour before boarding the motorcade to the Aureum Palace Hotel, where His Majesty will reside.

Upon arrival at the hotel, His Majesty was greeted by the hotel’s General Manager, Aung Myint Htun.

Accompanying His Majesty to Nay Pyi Taw were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II. - Borneo Bulletin (12 November 2014)
