IN CONJUNCTION with the royal wedding between YAM Tengku Amalin A’Ishah Putri binti Sultan Ismail Petra and YAM Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi, a Majlis Kesyukuran and Doa Selamat ceremony was held yesterday at the ceremonial hall of Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan.

The event was attended by several members of the royal family; YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara; Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as other distinguished invited guests.

The lighting of the “Dian Empat”, four ceremonial candles formed in a square, marked the commencement of the religious ceremony.

Recitations of the Assalammualaika, Rawi, Abtadul, Walamma and Aasyaraqal were led by Pehin Khatib Haji Awang Mustafa bin Haji Murat and Pehin Khatib Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al- Hafiz, while the Doa Kesyukuran was read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. - Borneo Bulletin (8 July 2013)
