To mark Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha’s birthday celebrations, the Brunei Darussalam Women’s Council (MWNBD) yesterday held a thanksgiving prayer at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Mosque in Kg Rimba.

The Brunei Darussalam Women’s Council is a non-government organisation formed by women from 13 associations affiliated with the Women Council, namely, Pertiwi, WI, PGGMB, PKP, Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association, Bistari, Perbekal, Bakti, Siswazah, Nurul Islam, Pewaja, Perganita and Bakanita.

MWNBD expressed its gratitude to Her Majesty for her support of the women community in the country.

Some 200 women turned up for the event, including MWNBD President Pengiran Datin Paduka Hajah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Matarsat, the vice president; head of commissioner; members of board of governors from MWNBD.

The mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin and a Doa Selamat were led by Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani from the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association (PPPBD). - Borneo Bulletin (7 October 2013)
