Royalty at Girl Guides’ Community Service Programme appreciation ceremony

HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, President of the Girl Guides Association; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna yesterday graced the Community Service Programme appreciation ceremony in conjunction with the 4th World Community Day 2013 of the Brunei Girl Guides Association at the Girl Guides Association Headquarters, Kampong Anggerek Desa.

Also in attendance during the ceremony were Pg Datin Paduka Hjh Mariam Pg Hj Matarsat, President of the Women Council of Brunei Darussalam; Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim, the Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association, along with other members of the Girl Guides Association.

During the ceremony, HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah presented awards to participants of the Community Service Programme, as well as sponsors and volunteers for the success of the Girl Guides Association Community Service Programme 2013.

HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah also handed over donations collected by the Girl Guides Association for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines to Dayang Hajah Noridah binti Hj Abdul Hamid, Acting Director of Community Development Department (JAPEM).

The highlight of the event was the cake-cutting ceremony in conjunction with HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah’s birthday, followed by a tour around the bazaar at the Girl Guides Headquarters for the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Fundraiser event. - Borneo Bulletin (6 December 2013)
