HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday consented to award His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and General of the RBAF with the Honorary Member of the Special Forces Regiment, RBAF.
The Honorary Member of Special Forces Regiment, RBAF award ceremony was held at the Binturan Shooting Range Complex, Penanjong Garrison, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence.
The Honorary Member of Special Forces Regiment, RBAF was bestowed on His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah for the role, leadership and contributions of His Royal Highness towards the development of the RBAF since His Royal Highness was bestowed the rank of General of the RBAF on March 25, 2004 by His Majesty.
As a General of the RBAF, apart from being consistently aware of current trends and welfare matters of members of the RBAF, His Royal Highness also played an important role in enhancing the image and profile of the RBAF through His Royal Highness’ visits to military and defence institutions overseas and also receiving audiences from foreign military and defence senior officers from overseas to Brunei Darussalam.
This role supports the efforts of the Defence Diplomacy between Brunei Darussalam and neighbouring countries from around the world. His Royal Highness is a leader who is committed to uphold the integrity, wise and sovereign leadership of His Majesty, particularly in the field of defence, the press release stated.
