HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to attend a get-together with Bruneian students and citizens who are currently in Australia. The ceremony was held at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra.
The arrival of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Dayangku Rohayaty binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Md Yassin, the Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia.
The ceremony began with His Majesty joining the luncheon with the students at the Canberra Room. Immediately after lunch, His Majesty consented to proceed to the Federation Ballroom.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam, followed by a Doa Selamat recited by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Dayangku Kamaliah Hafilah binti Pengiran Haji Saiful Rijal, the President of Brunei Darussalam’s Students Association in Australia, then delivered her opening speech.
At the ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also consented to deliver a titah in which His Majesty thanked Allah the Almighty for being able to meet with Bruneian students and citizens in Australia.
