TEMBURONG District welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with much excitement as residents waited as early as 6am near the helipad in Bangar Town.

Students from both primary and secondary schools lined up along the roads to wave their mini national flags whilst cheering ‘Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik’ as the beloved monarch and other members of the royal family made their way to the venue.

Participants at the compound of the Temburong Community Hall donned traditional outfits and performed to their utmost best for His Majesty.

The highlight of the event was the get-together as residents had the golden opportunity to shake hands with His Majesty and other members of the royal family. - Borneo Bulletin (27 September 2013)
