Crown Prince escorts Queen Beatrix around Kampung Ayer

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, yesterday accompanied Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on a visit to Kampung Ayer.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix is in the country for a three-day State Visit beginning yesterday and is scheduled to visit several key locations in the country.

Present to greet the royal entourage at the Dermaga Diraja Bandar Seri Begawan, was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, as well as other senior officers from the ministry.

From the Dermaga Diraja BSB, the royal entourage then went on a boat ride to Kampong Tamoi, where they were greeted by the Penghulu of MukimTamoi, Pengarah Haji Mokti bin Mat Salleh who then led the royal entourage to his residence.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and the royal entourage also had the opportunity to take a closer look at local delicacies, as well as mingle with the residents of Mukim Tamoi prior from departing the Water Village.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix then received tokens of appreciation from the Minister of Home Affairs who presented the souvenirs to Her Majesty, before leaving the Dermaga Diraja BSB. - Borneo Bulletin (22 January 2013)
