HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to leave Chiang Mai, Thailand, yesterday afternoon after attending the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS).
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office, before departing, a doa selamat was read by the State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Present at the Air Force Base in Chiang Mai to bid farewell to His Majesty were Niwatthumrong Boonsongpaisan, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Thailand; Apichart Phetcharatana, Ambasssador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam; Thanin Suphasen, Governer of Chiang Mai, and officers from the government of Thailand.
Also present at the Air Force Base was Awang Haji Aizul Sofrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Aziz, Charge d’Affaires of Brunei Darussalam to Thailand.
His Majesty was accompanied by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Development and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II.
