THE annual ‘Pesta Konvo’ kicked off to an enthusiastic start yesterday morning, in a ceremony held at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Library amidst a backdrop of technology, culture and heritage.
Officiated by His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as well as the Pro-Chancellor of UBD, the event also saw the attendance of several ministers, foreign dignitaries and senior officials who were introduced to students along with the projects they have tirelessly worked on over the past few months.
Open for public viewing for the next two weeks, the ground, first and second floors have been set up to pay tribute to the dreams and achievements of the students and staff, while in furtherance to the Pesta Konvo, a number of other activities will also be held over the next month until the third week of October.
During the official opening that commenced with the resonating sound of the classic Malay gong, HRH was taken on a tour of the exhibition, which started with instalments set up by UBD students as part of their module, which was then followed by a visit to the research portion of the showcase, and then student achievements for the last part of the day.
