HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Tony Abbott on the occasion of his recent appointment as the Prime Minister of Australia.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his pleasure over the warm and excellent ties enjoyed by the two countries and peoples, as well as the much-valued bilateral and international cooperation that His Majesty looks forward to further strengthening in the coming years with the Australian Prime Minister.

His Majesty said he greatly appreciated Australia’s support for Brunei Darussalam’s Asean Chairmanship and looked forward to welcoming the Australian Prime Minister to the Sultanate next month for the East Asia Summit.
