HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah consented to attend the Islamic New Year 1435 Hijrah celebration yesterday at the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC). The event was organised by the religious activity committee of the AGC.

Also in attendance were the Attorney General, Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohd Salleh, YAM Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar bin Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz, senior officers, officers and staff of the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Dayang Hjh Rahayu binti Datu Paduka Hj Abdul Razak, the event chairperson in her welcoming speech, said the event aimed to provide an opportunity to celebrate and enliven the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), which took place in the 15th Century and to express gratitude and love towards the struggle of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh).

The highlight of the event was a religious talk by an invited speaker from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ustaz Muskrisman Safari Hj Mustafa. The talk focused on the enforcement of Syariah Laws and it challenges as well as provides extra knowledge and understanding.

The event also coincided with the Dikir Marhaban presentation by the male Dikir group from the Attorney General’s Chambers to welcome the return of their two officers after performing the Haj. Some 100 staff and officers joined the event. - Borneo Bulletin (17 November 2013)
