THE public holiday in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 67th birthday on July 15 witnessed the birth of several babies throughout the nation with the Belait District welcoming four new additions to their community.
In line with their arrival and as per national tradition, the Souvenir Council for the occasion went to visit the respective families at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital yesterday to present them with several gifts including baby essentials sponsored by His Majesty’s 67th Birthday Committee, an ‘Akaun Si Manja’ with $100 and a hamper from Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) as well as a photo of each of the baby.
The first baby, a girl, was born at 12.46am weighing in at 2.450 kilogrammes to Mohamad Kifli bin Haji Hamzah and wife, Nur Halimah Jaharah binti Muhd Zaidani whilst the second baby, also a girl, was born at 5.14am weighing in at 1.810 kilogrammes to Phillip Chan and Liew Nyuk Fong.
The third baby, a boy, was born at 6.46am weighing in at 3.170 kilogrammes to Mohammad Faijal bin Tamit and Roziah binti Ahmat whilst the fourth baby, another boy, was born at 12.17pm weighing in at 3.550 kilogrammes to Muhd Isfadillah bin Haji Muhd Jaafar and Maslindawani binti Talib.
Present to hand over the gifts were Surayah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, wife to the Belait District Officer as well as TAIB’s Senior Manager of Internal Audit, Raisah binti Pengarah Haji Buntar.
