Sultan leaves Philippines after State Visit

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left the Philippines yesterday afternoon after a two-day State Visit.

Before leaving for Ninoy Aquino International Airport, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Before boarding the royal aircraft, His Majesty consented to walk past a static guard mounted by the Foyer Honour Guards.

Present at the airport were Jejomar C Binay, Vice President of the Philippines; Albert F del Rosario, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Cesar V Purisma, Secretary of the Department of Finance; Nestor Z Ochoa, the Philippines Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam; Ambassador Celia Anna M Feria, Chief of Presidential Protocol; as well as other senior officials from the Philippines Government.

Also present were Malai Hajah Halimah binti Malai Haji Yussof, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines; as well as officials from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in the Philippines. - Borneo Bulletin (17 April 2013)
