Thanksgiving ceremony commemorates His Majesty’s 67th birthday

THE Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in all the mosques and suraus of RBAF including Pulau Baru-Baru and Bangar Camp in conjunction with the 67th birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses of the Al-Quran, Surah Al-Mulk verse 1 to 11. Soon after, the Zohor prayer was performed, then the Sunnat Hajat prayer was followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran.

The guest of honour at the event held at the Surau of Bolkiah Garrison was Lieutenant Colonel Haji Abdul Ghani bin Haji Abdullah, Head of Inspectorate Unit. Also in attendance were senior officers, officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.

The celebration is a significant national event with a high spirit of patriotism where the nation prays for the welfare and safety of the monarch and the country. - Borneo Bulletin (16 July 2013)
