HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, chairman of Asean 2013, recently consented to attend a gala dinner for the heads of state and government attending the Asean-Japan Commemorative Summit.

The event took place at Fuji-no-ma, Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on Saturday night.

His Majesty was greeted on arrival by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife.

Shortly after, the monarch, together with Shinzo Abe and his wife, and other Asean heads of state and government proceeded to the Fuji-no-ma for the gala dinner.

Accompanying His Majesty were Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdul Rahman bin Hj Ibrahim; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng; Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awg Hj Mohammad Yasmin bin Hj Umar; and senior government officers. - Borneo Bulletin (16 December 2013)
