HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, yesterday attended an official welcoming ceremony followed by a four-eye meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia and later joined a luncheon.
His Royal Highness was received at the Perdana Square, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur by Datuk Othman bin Mahmood, Chairman of the Government Official Ceremony and welcomed by Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
His Royal Highness and the Malaysian Prime Minister walked to the dais and received the ‘Hormat Perdana’. The National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam was played followed by that of Malaysia.
His Royal Highness later inspected a guard of honour mounted by the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
His Royal Highness walked back to the dais and received the second ‘Hormat Perdana’ followed by the National Anthem of both countries.
His Royal Highness was introduced to the Malaysian Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials as well as heads of foreign mission in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Prime Minister was introduced to the official delegation from Brunei Darussalam.
Later, His Royal Highness boarded a motorcade to Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, for the four-eye meeting.
Upon arrival at the Seri Perdana, His Royal Highness signed the visitors’ book, which was followed by a photo session.
After the meeting, His Royal Highness was invited to the Protocol Room, Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, for a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Accompanying His Royal Highness was Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein, the Minister of Defence, Malaysia, as the Minister-in-Attendance.
Also accompanying were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Development; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Dato Paduka Haji Ishaaq bin Haji Abdullah, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia.
In the afternoon, His Royal Highness visited Bank Negara Malaysia. Upon arrival, HRH was greeted by Dato’ Muhammad bin Ibrahim, the Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.
HRH took part in a photo session followed by signing of the visitors’ book. HRH toured the museum and art gallery in Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia, followed by a briefing on Islamic Finance at the Executive Meeting Room on the fifth floor.
HRH also listened to briefings on Greater KL Valley Initiatives by PEMANDU presented by Dato’ Suhaili bin Idrus, Chairman of Greater KL Valley Initiatives and Kampong Bharu Regeneration Initiatives presented by Haji Nasharuddin bin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Kampong Bharu Development Corporation (PKB). Also present during the PKB briefing was Dato Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Malaysia’s Federal Territories Minister.
Accompanying HRH during the visit to Bank Negara Malaysia was Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Transport.
Also accompanying were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Development; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Meanwhile, in a separate event in the morning, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah visited the Centre of PERMATApintar Negara.
Accompanying Her Royal Highness was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Muntaqim.
Her Royal Highness was greeted on arrival by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the centre, and later was presented with a bouquet of flowers by two students of the centre. Her Royal Highness in return presented gifts to both students.
Her Royal Highness signed a visitors’ book and proceeded to the seminar room where Her Royal Highness was briefed by Associate Professor Dr Melor Yunos, Deputy Director of the Centre of PERMATApintar Negara before commencing the visit.
After the visit, Her Royal Highness was invited back to the seminar room, where Her Royal Highness consented to receive a souvenir. In return, Her Royal Highness presented souvenirs to the students and teachers of the Centre of PERMATApintar Negara.
Later, Her Royal Highness attended a luncheon and witnessed a performance by students at the Centre of PERMATApintar Negara.
Before leaving, Her Royal Highness took part in a photo session.
Accompanying Her Royal Highness was Datin Seri Tengku Marsilla binti Tengku Abdullah, the wife of Malaysian Minister of Defence. Also accompanying was Datin Hajah Mastura binti Haji Awang, the wife of the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia.
Their Royal Highnesses last evening arrived in the State of Johor. Their Royal Highnesses were greeted on arrival at Senai International Airport by Duli YAM Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Mahkota Johor; Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Minister of Johor; Dato’ Haji Obet bin Tawil, Secretary of the State of Johor; senior officials of the Secretary of the State of Johor; Exco members; and Col Hasan bin Ali, accompanying army officer.
Also at the airport to greet Their Royal Highnesses were Dato Paduka Haji Ishaaq bin Haji Abdullah, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia and his wife.
Later, Their Royal Highnesses were introduced to Members of the royal council led by Tunku Osman ibni Al-Marhum Tunku Temenggong Ahmad, Yang Di-Pertua of Ahli Majlis Jemaah Diraja at Thistle Hotel where Their Royal Highnesses will reside.
