HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of congratulations to Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the Government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of Iran’s National Day.

In the message to Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, His Majesty said he was pleased with the warm and friendly relations shared by the two countries and peoples and looked forward to further opportunities to strengthen these ties. In ending his message, His Majesty prayed that Allah the Almighty bless the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran with continued good health and happiness and the brotherly people of Iran with prosperity and progress.

In a similar message by HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade to Dr Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Islamic Republic of Iran, HRH said it was a pleasure meeting Dr Ali Akbar Salehi at the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran last August and thanked him again for the generous hospitality of his government and warm welcome of the Iranian people.

HRH also expressed his appreciation for the friendly relations enjoyed by the countries and looked forward to continuing the work together to strengthen the people’s friendship and cooperation. - Borneo Bulletin (11 February 2013)
