His Majesty receives Letters of Credence

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present Letters of Credence to the newly appointed Brunei Darussalam Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic Socialist of Vietnam and Republic of Turkey, and receive Letters of Credence from two newly appointed foreign envoys to the country.

His Majesty first consented to present a Letter of Credence to Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic Socialist of Vietnam, who was previously appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The monarch then presented a Letter of Credence to Awang Haji Mohd Sahrip bin Othman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Turkey, who was previously appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

His Majesty also received Letters of Credence from two newly appointed envoys to Brunei Darussalam, namely, Fikret Oguz Ates as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam, and Dr Fahad Mashary Al Thafiri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam.

Following the ceremony, the monarch consented to receive in audience Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh and Awang Haji Mohd Sahrip bin Othman.

His Majesty then granted separate audiences to the two newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam.

The monarch first received in audience Fikret Oguz Ates, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam, who previously served as Consul General at the Turkish Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Later, His Majesty consented to receive in audience Dr Fahad Mashary Al Thafiri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam, who previously served as Deputy Director of the Arab World Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.
