His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send a message of condolence to President of the Republic of Philippines, Benigno Simeon C Aquino III following the recent earthquake that struck the central Philippines, causing loss of lives and widespread damage.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his sadness upon hearing of the disaster and joined the government and people of Brunei Darussalam in extending condolences to the Philippines president, the government and people of the Philippines, particularly to the bereaved families of the victims of the disaster. - Borneo Bulletin (8th February 2012)
