Sultan in four-eye meeting with M'sian PM

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday morning consented to attend the 16th Annual Leaders' Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, which was held at Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. His Majesty consented to sign the Visitor's Book.

His Majesty and the Malaysian PM proceeded to the Office of the Prime Minister for the four-eye meeting.

After the meeting, His Majesty and Dato' Sri Mohd Najib went to the Multipurpose Hall, Perdana Putra Building to witness the Ceremony for Exchange of Documents Pertaining to the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

Representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II, and for the Malaysian Government was Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry.

After the ceremony, His Majesty and Dato' Sri Mohd Najib proceeded to the Perdana Meeeting Room for a briefing on the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley Initiatives by the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) by Dato' Sri Idris Jala, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of PEMANDU.

Later, His Majesty visited Seri Perdana where the ruler was greeted by the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his spouse, Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor; Tan Sri Dato' Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister; and Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, spouse of the Deputy Prime Minister.

His Majesty and Dato' Sri Mohd Najib then proceeded to the Blue Room and then to Protocol Dining Hall, Seri Perdana Complex, Persiaran Seri Perdana, Putrajaya for a luncheon hosted by the Malaysian Prime Minister. Also present were the wife of the Prime Minister,

Datin Sri Rosmah, Tan Sri Dato' Muhyiddin, Puan Sri Noorainee, Pehin Sri Dr Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah, several Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from both countries.

Also present at the ceremonies were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister's Office; Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II; and Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohd Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office.

His Majesty left Kuala Lumpur yesterday afternoon. Before leaving for the airport, a doa selamat was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Before boarding the Royal Aircraft, His Majesty consented to walk past a static guard mounted by the Malaysian Armed Forces.

Present at the Royal Malaysian Air Force Airbase in Subang to bid farewell to His Majesty were Dato' Seri Shaziman bin Abu Mansor, Minister of Public Works as the Minister-in-Attendance; Datuk Richard Riot Anak Jaem, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as senior officers from Royal Malaysian Air Force.

Also present at the airbase was Dato Paduka Haji Awang Ishaaq bin Haji Abdullah, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia as well as officers from the Brunei Darussalam High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. - Borneo Bulletin (5 September 2012)
