Royal audience to new envoys

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday presented Letters fo Credence to two newly-appointed Brunei envoys and received Letters of Credence from three foreign envoys to the country.

His Majesty first presented the Letter of Credence to Dr Haji Emran bin Bahar as Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to Lao people's Democratic Republic. This was followed by Haji Nordin bin Haji Ahmad as Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to the State of Qatar.

His Majesty later received Letters of Credence from three newly-appointed foreign envoys to the country, namely, Mr Nicos Panayi as Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus; Ms Maria Bassols Delgado as Ambassador of Spain; and Mr Attila Csaba Farago as Ambassador of Republic of Hungary.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty granted an audience to the two new Brunei envoys.

Prior to his appointment as Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to Lao People's Democratic Repubilc, Dr Haji Emran bin Bahar, 50, served as Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to Russia.

Meanwhile, Haji Nordin bin Haji Ahmad, 48, Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to the State of Qatar, previously served as Deputy Head of Mission, Charge d'Affaires at Brunei Embassy in Rabat, Morocco.

His Majesty later granted separate audiences to the newly-appointed foreign envoys from the Republic of Cyprus, Spain and Republic of Hungary.

His Majesty first received in audience, Mr Nicos Panayi, 48, the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus. He is concurrently the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Republic of Indonesia and is based in Jakarta.

His Majesty then received in audience Ms Maria Bassols Delgado, 53, the non-reisdent Ambassador of Spain. She also serves as Ambassador of Spain to Malaysia and is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Lastly, His Majesty received in audience the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, Mr Attila Csaba Farago, 56. He is also the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Singapore and is based in Singapore.
