In conjunction with the 38th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, a thanksgiving ceremony was held yesterday at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital, organised by the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA).

The ceremony included mass Maghrib prayer led by Pehin Khatib Awg Hj Mustafa bin Hj Murad, Imam of Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, followed by the presentation of donations from Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd to DANA.

The donations, amounting B$2,000 from the shareholders of Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd and another B$2,000 from the shareholders of Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd were handed by Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awg Hj Mohammad bin Hj Daud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd to Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awg Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, Minister of Education and Deputy Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees.

This was then followed by the recitation of surah Yaasiin followed by a thanksgiving ceremony. Also present were executive members and members of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex and DANA, special guests including permanent contributors, officers, staff and teachers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School. - Borneo Bulletin (18th February 2012)
