Members of the Brunei Ladies Golf Association (BLGA) yesterday afternoon wholeheartedly belted out a special birthday song for Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman to commemorate Her Royal Highness's birthday during the prize presentation of the Royal Patron Charity Golf tournament 2012.

Also present to witness the celebration were the parents of Her Royal Highness, Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit and Rinawaty Abdullah.

Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, who is the Royal Patron of BLGA, upon arrival was greeted by Hjh Sarinah binti Hj Masri, the acting chairlady of Brunei Ladies Golf Association (BLGA) and other members.

Hjh Sarinah binti Hj Masri in her welcoming remarks said, "Today is also an opportunity for us to celebrate the birthday of Her Royal Highness. The Royal Patron Charity Golf Tournament has been an annual event that is held in conjunction with Your Highness' birthday to raise funds for worthy causes. On this note, the Brunei Ladies Golf Association would like to record our sincere thanks for Your Royal Highness's continued support and guidance."

She also highlighted that BLGA continues to pursue its aim to promote the game of golf among ladies of all ages in Brunei Darussalam and to encourage its members to participate in competitions both inside and outside Brunei Darussalam.

The acting chairlady also mentioned the recent achievements of Brunei female golfers whereby they came in third place in the annual Borneo Ladies Tournament held in Miri recently.

Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah then cut the birthday cake and received a pesambah from Hjh Sarinah binti Hj Masri, on behalf of BLGA.

This year's Royal Patron Charity Golf tournament 2012 managed to raise B$11,800 from the two-and-a-half day competition contested by 217 golfers.

The monies raised were donated to the Brunei-Muara Red Crescent Society. Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah as the Royal Patron of BLGA, presented the mock cheque to Hj Morni Hj Damit, the chairman of Brunei-Muara Red Crescent Society.

Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah also presented certificates of appreciation to all the sponsors. - Borneo Bulletin (16 April 2012)
