Hakim Hayat & Dean Kassim in Istanbul, Turkey
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to leave Istanbul, Turkey Wednesday evening after concluding a five-day State Visit to the Republic of Turkey.
Before leaving for the airport, a doa selamat was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Before boarding the Royal Aircraft, His Majesty consented to walk past a static guard mounted by the Turkish Armed Forces.
Present at the Istanbul Ataturk International Airport to bid farewell to His Majesty were Egemen Bagis, Minister of European Union Affairs as the Minister-in-Attendance; Husseyin Avni Mutlu, Governor of Istanbul; Dr Kadir Topbas, Mayor of Istanbul; Serap Ataay, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam; and other senior officials from the Government of Turkey.
Also present at the airport was Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Turkey and other officials from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam.
