His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha last night consented to host a Royal Banquet in honour of the State Visit of Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIV of Malaysia, Almu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

Accompanying Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong from the hotel of residence to Istana Darul Hana was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah as the Royal Family in Attendance.

Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri consented to a Call-on Ceremony with Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong along with other members of the royal family.

Following the Call-on Ceremony was the exchange of gifts ceremony between His Majesty and Her Majesty with Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong.

His Majesty and Her Majesty together with Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong then proceeded to the Banquet Hall for the Royal Banquet.

Present at the Royal Banquet were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah; HRH Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; YAM Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah; HRH Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik; HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah; HRH Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; HRH Princess Hajah Masna, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; HRH Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam; as well as other members of the royal family.

From Malaysia, present were His Royal Highness Tunku Temenggong Kedah, Dato' Seri Diraja Tan Sri Tunku Sallehudin; Her Royal Highness Toh Puan Temenggong Kedah, Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Dato' Tengku Maliha; HRH Tunku Panglima Besar Kedah, Dato' Seri Diraja Tunku Puteri Intan Shafinaz; HRH Dato' Seri Diraja Tunku Soraya; HRH Raja Kechil Besar

Perak, and Raja Dato' Seri Iskander Zulkarnain.

Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awang Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, the Minister of Education of Brunei Darussalam as the Minister in Attendance and Datin Paduka Hjh Jahrah binti Hj Mohamad; Senator Dato' Raja Nong Chik, Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Well Being of Malaysia; Datin Nafesah; Dato' Seri Abdullah Sani Omar, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, and spouse Datin Adeda Rahimah.

Prior to the commencement of the Royal Banquet, a doa was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam then consented to deliver a titah, which was followed by a titah from Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.

Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong arrived in Brunei Darussalam Wednesday afternoon and will be leaving today. - Borneo Bulletin (11 May 2012)
