His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim yesterday attended the Youth Motivation Programme 2011, which was organised by the Youth and Sports Department with the cooperation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Also present at the Indoor Stadium were Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Hazair bin Hj Abdullah, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as Deputy Minister Datin Paduka Hjh Adina bte Hj Othman and other senior officials.
Among the motivational programme's objectives were to create awareness among youths on the importance of their involvement, as the country's assets, in national development, as well as to instil in them a sense of responsibility to become highly motivated youths who are disciplined and law-abiding.
It was also to support His Majesty's vision for the development of the national identity as well as to expose youths on the dangers of corruption.
The event involved about 6,000 youths, comprising students and association members from all the four districts.
It was actually part of a series and yesterday marked the turn of the Brunei-Muara District and the second programme to be held.
ACB invited a special speaker from the Malaysia Corruption Prevention Commission, Mohd Radzi bin Omar, who played a guitar while giving his unique, educational presentation on corruption prevention that entertained the crowd. It was reiterated that today's youths are tomorrow's future leaders.
