His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam highlighted Japan's role towards Asean integration and its contribution in Asean connectivity master plan during the 14th Asean-Japan Summit, held in conjunction with the 19th Asean Summit and Related Summit at Nusa Dua in the Indonesian resort island of Bali.
His Majesty and other Asean leaders also took note of the 7th Executive Report on the Implementation of the Asean-Japan Plan of Action.
His Majesty expressed his appreciation for Japan's continuing to put greater emphasis on supporting Asean integration.
His Majesty also commended Japan's initiatives in providing assistance to Asean in responding to natural disasters as well as in supporting Asean's work through the Asean Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre).
His Majesty also welcomed Japan's contribution and support for the "Master Plan on Asean Connectivity" and called for the full realisation of the "Asean-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement".
His Majesty stated that this will bring about more economic development and growth to the region.
