Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah yesterday attended a Korban ceremony organised by the Ministry of Finance. The event was held at the ministry's lobby concourse at Commonwealth Drive.
The ceremony began with the recital of surah al-fatihah led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaili bin Awang Haji Mohiddin, Deputy State Mufti. Her Royal Highness then presented the sacrificial meat to 89 orphans from the Mukim Berakas area.
Among those who attended the ceremony were the Second Finance Minister, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, deputy finance minister, permanent and deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments, heads of sections, senior officers and staff.
This year's Korban was coordinated by the Department of Supply and State Store.
