His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration yesterday morning at the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Kiarong.
His Majesty was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
His Majesty contributed 14 goats and 48 cows to be sacrificed around the country, of which seven goats were slaughtered during the ceremony at the Jame' 'Asr Mosque.
The ceremony also saw His Majesty performing the sacrificial rites on the first goat and witnessed the sacrifice of six other goats.
All the meat from His Majesty's contribution were given out to 1,113 members of the less fortunate community, of whom 20 selected members were presented by His Majesty during yesterday's ceremony at the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque.
Before the sacrificial rites began, His Majesty joined thousands of his subjects for Hari Raya Aidiladha prayers at the mosque.
