The Welfare Body for Penghulu, Head of Kampongs and Long Houses Committee was given a mandate for administrating the Pesta Perayaan Rakyat in conjunction with His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan's 62nd birthday celebration.

The meeting took place in the Tutong District's Dato Penglima's Conference Room yesterday and was attended by representatives from various government agencies.

The event began with a group reading of the Surah al-Fatihah led by the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya, Haji Abd Wahab Apong, followed by a welcoming speech by the chairman, Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Haji Muhd Taha Abd Rauf.

Programmes for the celebration were then discussed, including exhibitions, the selling of the Mukim's and kampong's products, sports events, as well as the performances from uniformed teams.
