Sultan receives new envoys

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present credentials to newly appointed Brunei envoys to New Zealand, India and Laos.

His Majesty also consented to receive credentials from three new foreign envoys at a ceremony held at the Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty presented letters of credentials to Datin Tan Bee Yong, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to New Zealand; Haji Sidek bin Ali, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to India; and Johan Thani bin Haji Abdullah, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Laos.

His Majesty later received letters of credentials from three newly appointed non-resident envoys from Palestine, Afghanistan and Nigeria.

His Majesty received letters of credentials from Abdelaziz Aboughosh, non-resident Ambassador of Palestine to Brunei Darussalam; Mohammad Yunos Farman, no-resident Ambassador of Afghanistan to Brunei Darussalam; and Peter Jonathan Ethasor Anegbeh, non-resident High Commissioner of Nigeria to Brunei Darussalam.

All three newly appointed envoys are residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His Majesty also granted separate audiences to the three new Brunei envoys and three new non-resident envoys from friendly countries.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday received the three newly-appointed non-resident foreign envoys - Abdelaziz Aboughosh of Palestine, Mohamed Yunos Farman of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and Peter Jonathan Ethasor Anegbeh of the Federal Republic of Nigeria - at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan.
