Sultan presents credentials to Brunei envoys

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present credentials to two newly appointed Brunei envoys to the Nordic Nations, the United Nations in Geneva, and Canada.

His Majesty also consented to receive credentials from three new foreign envoys at a ceremony held at the Istana Nurul Iman.

The monarch presented letters of credentials to Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Nordic Nations Pengiran Hj Yunus bin Pengiran Hj Mahmud; Brunei Permanent Representative to United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland Md Janin bin Erih; and Brunei High Commissioner to Canada Rakiah binti Hj Abdul Lamit.

The day also saw two new incoming envoys from the Czech Republic and the Republic of Uganda presenting their letters of appointment.

First was non-resident Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Brunei Darussalam Pavel Rezac, who resides in Jakarta. Next to present his credentials was High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda Wasswa Rocky Biriggwa, who resides in Tokyo, Japan.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty consented to receive in audience the three newly appointed Brunei envoys and the two new non-resident envoys from friendly countries. - Borneo Bulletin (16th April 2008)
